Chelsea are currently beating a European club at the 21-year-old signing
Chelsea are said to have preceded Juventus in the race for Monegasque Aurélien Tchouameni.
Tuttosport claim the Blues are currently improving Juve’s efforts to secure the midfielder’s allegiance.
Between the two European colossi, Liverpool, Manchester United and potentially yet other big clubs, there should be an almighty fight against Tchouameni when the January window opens for business.
The 21-year-old is a hot property right now, with his stock continuing to soar as the days go by.
He became the Nations League champion last night after helping France fight Spain.
Monegasque man under the microscope
Now admired by the international community, Monaco will find it difficult to lock up its precious much longer.
His contract does not expire until 2024, but such barriers have never stopped teams like Chelsea from succeeding before.
If the money is right, the Ligue 1 side could find themselves abandoning Tchouameni more easily than expected.
Of course, there will be some resistance from them.
Tchouameni is without a doubt the most important component of Monaco; he hasn’t missed a game for them this season.
“We are very happy to have him with us in Monaco,” said Monegasques manager Niko Kovac.
“He’s becoming a real leader in this team.
Despite his youthful appearance, Tchouameni has become a good specimen and an example for his senior teammates.
Rarely injured or absent, the superstar raised in Rouen is a trainer’s dream.
And that reliability is something Chelsea are looking for in their successor N’Golo Kante.
Kante’s regular trips to the treatment table have circulated worried murmurs about his longevity.
Combined with the age of the Parisian – he turned 30 in March – the Blues are starting to look at the market for long-term alternatives.
