Denmark’s Princess Mary steps out in a £758 ‘retro’ Zimmermann skirt with the Royal Family
Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, 50, joined the rest of the Danish Royal Family today in southern Jutland to pose for new photos. The Royal Family has officially released new photos on their Instagram page to commemorate the legacy of the late Queen Ingrid of Denmark, who died in 2000. Crown Princess Mary, married to the heir to the throne, Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark, looked radiant for the day.
The 50-year-old royal wore her Zimmermann skirt which she has worn on several occasions.
The ‘Patchwork Cassia Midi Skirt’ retails for £758 at Harrods.
The description on the site says: “This cheerful printed skirt is inspired by bygone eras.
“Zimmermann’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection is inspired by the memories of founder Nicky Zimmermann of Australia’s music program Countdown, responsible for introducing the nation to iconic artists like Blondie and ABBA in the 70s and 80s.
“These retro inspirations are evident in the Cassia midi skirt – one glimpse of its patchwork design and rope waistband is enough to confirm it.”
Mary herself is of Australian descent, born in Tasmania in 1972.
Therefore, in addition to honoring the late Queen Ingrid, Mary’s style could be seen as a sweet nod to her home country of Australia.
Mary paired the skirt with a long-sleeved yellow satin blouse, which featured a deep V-neck.
Crown Princess Mary’s blouse is from Zadig & Voltaire and sells for £275. The princess opted for jewelry from Dulong.
For footwear, the Crown Princess wore a casual pair of flip flops. Mary wore her gorgeous brown hair for the occasion.
