Esequil Gomez and Demi Maestas considered armed and dangerous following numerous alleged burglaries – CBS Denver
COMMERCE CITY, Colorado (CBS4) – The Commerce City police want to find two suspects they consider armed and dangerous. Police say Esequiel Gomez and Demi Maestas have committed a series of commercial burglaries and vehicle thefts in recent months throughout the Denver metro area.
Gomez, 32, and Maestas, 29, are suspected of being part of a group accused of stealing cars to ram into businesses in the middle of the night.
Police said the two suspects were seen with firearms in the burglaries in Commerce City, Denver, Thornton, Aurora and as far away as Sterling. Police said the suspect fled in a stolen vehicle whenever authorities tried to catch him.
On June 21, police found Gomez in a house near 69th Avenue and Monaco Street.
“Gomez spotted the SWAT officers approaching the residence and climbed into the passenger side of a stolen new model Audi, gray in color, and fled eastbound on 69th Avenue E .,” police said in a news release.
Authorities recovered over $500,000 worth of property, not including the vehicles:
- Two stolen trucks
- Stolen motorhome
- Two stolen assault rifles
- Ownership of at least six different burglary scenes in four jurisdictions (Commerce City, Aurora, Thornton, and Adams County)
