The Covid-19 pandemic is casting a shadow over the preparations for the end of the year holidays, while the number of cases linked to the virus and hospitalizations in the Principality continues to increase from week to week.
Monday, December 13, the last update reported 20 new positive cases for Covid-19 with 19 patients at the CHU Princess Grace. In comparison, Monday, December 6, 9 people were treated in hospital. The incidence rate is 544.98 (409.39 last week). Monday evening, 158 people were followed by the Home Monitoring Center.
The health situation is also worrying in the Alpes-Maritimes, where the incidence rate has crossed the 700 mark (716, against 503 in the rest of France). The occupancy rate of hospitals is estimated at 74% in the department.
Who can be vaccinated in the Principality?
The Government is continuing its efforts to sensitize the population to the importance of vaccination. As of December 5, 65.4% of the population aged 12 and over was fully immunized. The figure rises to 76.8% for those aged 55-64 and reaches almost 92% for those over 75.
The government launched the vaccination-covid19.gouv.mc website to simplify the procedure for people who wish to be vaccinated. As a reminder, vaccination is completely free for Monegasques, residents of the Principality and employees who work in Monaco.
