On the QT: Sahba Abedian scores a huge ‘free’ block of waterfront land at Broadbeach Waters
Developer Sunland’s general manager marked a vast waterfront lot in a desirable Gold Coast suburb while not paying a dime. Here is how he did it.
SUNLAND’s Sahba Abedian and his wife Nava are believed to envision a family home on what amounts to a large ‘free’ riverside site at Broadbeach Waters, Monaco St.
A Sahba-related company bought a 5,298 m² plot on the street for $ 12.25 million in December, recovered $ 13 million by selling two plots and kept the remaining 1,605 m².
Nava’s sale last week of a beachfront site in Mermaid Beach for $ 17.5 million, or a profit of $ 6.5 million, is expected to help the construction fund.
JOHN Carayiannis, a Melbourne publican who once hosted the INXS group, has put aside his ambitions to hit the high marks with an apartment tower in Main Beach and is selling his site.
John, who purchased the historic Central Club Hotel in Richmond in 1978, owns a 12-apartment building on a 1012 m² site on the east side of Pacific St, behind the 25-story Pacific Views skyscraper.
It obtained approval in 2019 for a tower of 28 apartments, described in the site’s marketing presentation, as “upscale”.
The developers of BRISBANE who, four days before Christmas, signed up to buy 47 ha in Coomera from the Queensland Investment Corporation have made the deal, with an advertised price of $ 35.2 million.
The Keylin and Kinstone groups, partners in the latest component of the Oyster Cove estate on Hope Island, have apparently beaten up some notable real estate players to secure the land.
It sits between Dreamworld and Westfield and is intended for a residential project that will include rental units.
