After a disappointing Europa League exit last month, Monaco bounced back in style with back-to-back wins over Paris Saint-Germain and most recently against Metz.

Last Sunday, goals from Ben Yedder and Myron Boadu picked up a 2-1 victory at Longeville-les-Metz, and the visitors would have been pleased with their overall performance after dominating possession.

Philippe ClementThe side have been in particularly good goalscoring form on their home turf this season, having netted 29 times in 15 appearances, suggesting they will also be entertaining their home crowd this weekend.

Monaco’s two matches after this game will be against third-placed Rennes and fifth-placed Nice, so three points this weekend will mean they can put themselves in a position to overtake their opponents in the coming weeks.

Troyes enter this game in good form, having gone five games unbeaten, in which they have kept three clean sheets in their three wins.

One of those triumphs last came in a 1-0 win over Reims, courtesy of a 93rd-minute goal from Renaud Ripartand it was an important three points for Troyes as Reims are above them in the table.

Bruno IrlesThe Troyes side haven’t scored as many goals as the higher-placed sides in the league, and that may have been what has held back their progress this season, but after earning promotion to the top flight last year, Troyes will be happy to retain its Ligue 1 status.

The visitors are expected to hand the ball over to Monaco on Sunday, meaning Irles’ side will need to be effective on the counter-attack to bring some points home with them.

Monaco beat Troyes 2-1 in the second leg in August, with both teams fairly even that day and creating a similar number of chances.

Team News

Cesc Fabregas only managed two Ligue 1 appearances at the start of this season before being ruled out with injury, and while he could make a comeback this month, Sunday certainly came too soon for the Spaniard to show up .

threat of attack Kevin Volland is also expected to miss through illness, and he will be missed as he has scored six goals and provided five assists in 26 Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco this season.

While right winger Krepin Diatta faces more sideline time due to a cruciate ligament injury, Clement could name the same starting 11 as last weekend, with captain Yedder continuing to lead the line.

Troyes will be without Suk Hyun Jun and Karim Azamoum due to injury, while the centre-back Adil Rummy was sent off after just 29 minutes last weekend and is unlikely to be fit enough to feature on Sunday.

Erik Palmer-Brown should come into the back three and play alongside Yoann Salmier and Giulian Bianconewith Abdou and Issa Kabore providing breadth from their full-back roles.

Possible starting line-up from Monaco:
Nubel; Henrique, Badiashile, Disasi, Aguilar; Tchouameni, Fofana; Martins, Golovin, Vanderson; Yedder

Possible starting line-up from Troyes:
Gallon; Salmier, Palmer-Brown, Biancone; Abdu, Tardieu, Kouame, Kabore; Chavalerin, Dingome; Mothiba

They say: Monaco 2-0 Troyes

After two positive results and a return home, Monaco are big favorites for this match and should have no problem overtaking Troyes.

The visitors have been in good form, but many of those games have come against teams around them in the table, so facing a team that is fighting for a European spot will be a tougher test.
