PSV Eindhoven and Monaco compete in the Europa League Thursday night, they are looking to build on their four-point harvest in their first two group games.

There have been times this season where PSV have seemed to pull back under Roger schmidt, especially during a period when they lost to Feyenoord and Willem II.

However, now sitting one point behind Eredivisie leaders Ajax and performing in the Europa League, Schmidt will be relatively happy with the current situation.

Clean sheets remain a major issue for this team with only one recorded in eight attempts, but scoring 22 goals in nine games on the other end cannot be ignored.

That said, their last seven goals were remarkably scored in the 74th minute or later, a bizarre trend but one that suggests this is a group of fit players.

Goals continue to be shared around the squad, with their 22 efforts in the Dutch flight coming from 12 players and six different members appearing on the Europa League scoresheet.

Despite having won the same number of points as their next opponents in Europe, Monaco have been considerably less impressive in terms of performances.

After beating the minnows of the Sturm Graz group by a score of 1-0, Nico Kovac saw his side drop a lead in Spain to draw Real Sociedad.

Still, staying undefeated at this point is a respectable comeback, especially given their inconsistency on the domestic scene.

Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Lyon, their fourth in 10 league games, places Monaco in 10th place in the Ligue 1 standings.

We say: PSV Eindhoven 1-1 Monaco

Since the margins of error are extremely low in this group, don’t expect both parties to move forward at will. Nonetheless, it could turn out to be an intriguing showdown, which could end with a share of the loot.
