Bordeaux will travel to Roazhon Park this weekend to face reindeer as their Ligue 1 campaign continues on Sunday.

Neither team has won a match in 2022, as Rennes were shut out 1-0 last Saturday by Lens, while Girondins lost by the same score against Olympique de Marseilles.

They say: Rennes 4-0 Bordeaux

It’s been a frustrating time for Rennes, who like to attack in numbers and press, so we expect to see them vent those frustrations against a helpless Bordeaux side, who leave far too much time and space in their own penalty area.

Not only have the Girondins struggled enormously this season, but the banishment of their now former captain Koscielny is an unwelcome distraction for a side trying to stay in Ligue 1.

Our Tipster the partners predict a home win.

After being minutes away from pulling off a huge upset in their final game of 2021, Lorient will face Angers during their first match of the new year this Sunday at the Stade du Moustoir in Brittany.

FCL are winless in 12 consecutive matches but managed to hold Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain to a 1-1 draw in December, while Les Scoistes have lost three of their last four encounters, ending the year with a 4-1 loss against Montpellier University Hospital.

They say: Lorient 1-0 Angers

Knowing how badly these teams have played, not to mention the long break between their previous games, it could take a while for each team to get into shape, but Lorient could be down to a win because they played football much more inspiring in their last match even if it was not a victory.

Angers appear to be struggling against the weaker teams in the French top flight, failing to win four games against teams ranked 15th or lower.

Our Tipster the partners predict more than 1.5 goals.

Two teams at opposite ends of the table will face off on Sunday when monaco host Clermont at the Stade Louis II, with each side hoping to return to winning ways after drawing in their previous outings.

The hosts will be aiming to move up into European positions with a win, while the visitors will be hoping to move further away from the relegation zone.

They say: Monaco 2-0 Clermont

Both teams come into this game after a draw, but their larger-scale form is very different, which is reflected in their league positions.

Monaco have the chance to potentially break into the European places this weekend, and securing a win is something they should be able to do here.

Our tipster the partners predict less than 3.5 goals.

Two teams from the bottom half of the Ligue 1 table will face off this Sunday when they are ranked 14th Reims host Metz, who currently find themselves in the relegation zone.

The hosts are unbeaten in their last five outings in all competitions, while their opponents are winless in three.

We say: Reims 1-0 Metz

While a win could knock Metz out of the relegation zone, they come up against an in-form side as they attempt to do so, making for a tough game.

Reims will be hoping to continue their impressive performances of late, and while they may struggle to score goals as a group, they aren’t conceding much, which should help them earn three points here.

Our Tipster the partners predict more than 1.5 goals.

Strasbourg players celebrate after the match against Nice on December 5, 2021© Reuters

After being eliminated from the Coupe de France by Montpellier HSC, Strasbourg will be keen to take revenge by hosting La Paillade on Sunday at the Meinau stadium.

Racing began the second half of their Ligue 1 campaign with a 2-0 victory over their biggest rivals Metz, while Montpellier enter this competition having won six consecutive matches in all competitions, with their last victory against Strasbourg 1-0 at the start of the year.

They say: Strasbourg 2-2 Montpellier HSC

Both of these teams know how to finish their chances, and they’re both very aggressive, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a few goals scored in this one.

Strasbourg will be without their two top scorers, so their depth will be tested, but Montpellier are a long way behind, having not played since January 2, and that could favor Les Coureurs early on.

Our Tipster the partners predict less than 3.5 goals.

Lucas Paqueta of Olympique Lyonnais celebrates his first goal with his teammates on January 9, 2022© Reuters

After holding Paris Saint-Germain to an impressive draw, Lyons make the trip to Troyes for Sunday afternoon’s Ligue 1 battle.

Peter Bosz’s side played out a 1-1 stalemate with the runaway leaders last time out, while the hosts’ proposed clash with Montpellier HSC was called off due to the coronavirus outbreak.

They say: Troyes 1-3 Lyon

Keeping the backdoor has been a problem for Lyon throughout the season, but Bosz’s side should use this excellent opportunity to end their miserable draw streak.

Troyes’ solid home form and Lyon’s disappointing away form will have the local faithful believing an upset could materialize, but a Paqueta-inspired Gones is likely to lack convincing winners.

Our Tipster the partners predict less than 3.5 goals.

Marseille's Cengiz Under celebrate their first goal with Matteo Guendouzi on January 7, 2022© Reuters

Defending champions meet title underdogs at the Orange Velodrome in Sunday night’s Ligue 1 clash as Marseille host Lille.

The hosts’ first league game of 2022 saw them lose 1-0 to Bordeaux, while Les Dogues’ battle with Lorient was postponed due to COVID-19.

We say: Marseille 1-1 Lille

Marseille and Lille seemed to have turned a corner after their autumnal struggles, but the failure of the champions to close the back door could cost them dearly once again.

Gourvennec’s side still possess their own goal threat with David and Yilmaz up front, however, and we simply can’t separate the two advancing giants on this occasion.

Our Tipster the partners predict less than 3.5 goals.
