Princess Charlene was pictured shedding a few tears on her wedding day at Prince Albert II of Monaco back in 2011.

Photos show the royal dabbing her cheek with a handkerchief as the couple walked out of Sainte Dévote church after their religious ceremony at the Prince’s Palace in Monaco.

The South African swimmer later explained why she was emotional, silence rumors that he was associated with Albert’s infidelity.

Speaking of her big day, Charlene said in an interview with Time: “It was all so overwhelming and there were all mixed emotions from the rumors, and obviously the tension built up and I burst into tears [immediately after the ceremony].

“And then I burst into tears again because I was like ‘Oh no, now the whole world has seen me cry’.

The royal admitted she felt ‘overwhelmed’ on her wedding day

She added, “It’s been such a wonderful three days. Even months later, I was getting flashbacks and I was like, ‘Oh, my God, did I really play the Eagles at my wedding?’ I think about it and wonder how we managed to get out of it. “

The magnificent three-day wedding celebrations began with a concert on June 30, 2011 by classic rockers the Eagles and ended with a lavish reception on July 2 attended by guests, who ranged from the Royal Family of Monaco to Prince Edward, his wife. Sophie, and Naomi campbell.

Charlene’s close friend and bridesmaid Isabella Kristensen told HELLO! : “It was absolutely beautiful. Albert’s speech was touching, Charlene’s father’s speech was incredible. Everyone found the event very romantic. Charlene moved to Monaco out of love, and special.”

The couple celebrated their tenth anniversary this year, but were forced to pass it aside after Charlene contracted a severe ear, nose and throat infection in May, which meant she couldn’t return home to Monaco. In a statement, it was explained that Charlene’s medical team ordered her not to travel.
